You can ask 10 people what will make them happier. You will get different answers but most of them will be a variation of:

If I were thinner, richer, fitter, had more time, more friends ...
I will be happier when ...
If I only had this or that I'd be happy ...
... Or if I could just change this one part of my life I'd finally be happy ...
Or ... Or ... Or...
Here's the deal ~ 50% of happiness is due to genetics and 10 % is due to life circumstances. Do the Math.  40% of happiness is under your control. Let me repeat that. 40% of happiness is under your control. You can become happier. It's your choice, your decision.
It's exactly the point Curly made in the movie City Slickers ~ 'the one thing.'

YOU have the power to be Happier

We are all entitled to Happiness.  But, most of us are looking in all the wrong places. We look for external 'people or things' to make us Happy.  

Trying to pursue happiness without making internal changes is like a dog chasing it's tail. You will have no idea what to do with it when you find it.

The good news is that Happiness is something that can be achieved with simple changes that only you alone can make.

Over the last 10 years I have been through a major life transition. My life has been anything but easy.  

What I did to change everything was ~ I chose to be Happy. And I did what was needed to make it happen. 

It's the same thing if you look around at "thin" or "fit" people. Sure you may think it's easy for them. ​  But think again (and again and again). They work at getting what they want. They make the changes needed. Just like I did, and just like YOU CAN TOO.
