TripAdvisor ~ The world’s largest travel site, is the most popular resource for traveler reviews. The TripAdvisor App helps make decisions about places to stay, eat and tour based on suggestions and rating by others. They also have forums where you can have discussions with other real travelers and receive trusted advice. TripAdvisor also offers seamless links to booking tools. TripAdvisor has a city guide filled with local businesses, city facts, and GPS. You do not need to connect to the internet to use their guides. Download the TripAdvisor App.

Tripit ~ Tripit lets you organize all your dinner, tour, … etc., reservations and creates a detailed itinerary of your trip. Tripit has an app so you can use it on the go. It not only organizes the details but notifies you of upcoming reservations, directions and allows you to forward confirmation emails for hotels, airline, restaurant, and car rentals, allowing you to share your travel plans with others. FlightAware ~ The FlightAware app allows you to track flights online, see a live map of the flight moving and check on delays, cancellations, and gate changes.

Weather.com ~ The world’s largest database for weather and lightning sensors to help you plan your travels accordingly. The app is loaded with features like photo submissions, live weather cams, and seasonal conditions. Uber ~ A convenient on-demand car service app that allows you to request private drivers in most cities and pays the driver from your mobile phone. The app has drivers in 36 countries and in over a hundred cities. The service utilizes dispatch software to send the nearest licensed professional driver to your location. CityBikes ~ The most popular bike sharing app, CityBikes finds you bike rentals all around the world. Download CityBikes.

Hop Stop ~ A favorite for giving public transportation schedules (subway, bus, regional rail), maps and even bike and walking directions as well as travel time, and costs. Traffic is updated in real-time. Download Hop Stop.

Wifi Finder ~ This app allows you to see where the strongest free Wifi spots are near you.

Onavo ~ Will help decrease expensive roaming charges while on the road. Once installed, the amount of data required to perform everyday tasks, such as opening an email or posting photos are dramatically reduced.

Where to Eat ~ Shows local places to eat and allows you to choose by cuisine type. The app also offers a feature to suggest places to eat when you are undecided. Download Where To Eat.
