Also – For Gmail users:

There are some important changes that have happened that you may already be aware of. Gmail has rolled out some new features and they’ve started to automatically filter your email messages for you (this also applies if you use Google Apps for your business email address).

The big change is that there is no longer going to be a single inbox, instead there will be a series of tabs across the top of the inbox window labeled “Primary,” “Social” and “Promotions”.

It’s a great thing for organizing BUT the tricky part is that Gmail will automatically sort your incoming email into these categories and it is quite possible that my emails to you will be sorted into one of the non-primary tabs. Sometimes they will categorize my messages to you as “Promotions” and automatically make them skip your primary tab.

You will want to keep an eye on those other tabs to be sure you’re still seeing all of the emails you’re used to seeing in your inbox.

I don’t mind these categories but if you do – and you want to completely remove these new tabs – go to the Settings box in the upper right hand corner of your inbox and select “Settings.” Click on the “Inbox” tab and unselect all categories but “Primary” (and don’t forget to save your changes). Voila! You now have your single inbox back.

If you want to keep the tabs but be sure that my emails end up in the “Primary” tab so you don’t miss them, simply find my email (from whatever tab Gmail has filed it under) and drag it into the Primary tab, then click “yes” when the alert box pops up. This way, all of your future emails from me will be sorted into the “Primary” inbox by default.

There you have it, now you can see the emails you feel are important and not overlook the ones you look forward to receiving… like the ones from me!
