NEW RULE; the Big Idea/ Strategy to help with this new world we live in:

  • Branding is how you get known
  • Marketing is how you get found
  • Sales are how you get paid
  • Operations are how you build a business

Why it’s important; benefits both personally and professionally:

Branding, marketing, sales and operations are all equally important to building a life and business that is an incredible one.  If you want to experience the financial and spiritual rewards that accompany entrepreneurship and small business ownership you need a strategic approach to all four.

How to accomplish the above and start to unleash your incredible factor:

“Start with the question: What I am and what do I bring to the table? Package yourself/business in a way that creates an environment such that your customer will perceive your brand as a solution for them, so that they are confortable making an emotional investment with you.

Once packaged, you have to let others know about you and your business – you need customers. In order not to “blow up by yourself,” marketing conversations enter into the continuum: This is who I am, this is who I help, this is how I canhelp you.

After you have begun marketing and people are finding you, then you need to know sales. You need to know how to get them to understand your total package so they will make a financial investment.

Additionally, you need an Operational Mechanism in place – systems – to create wealth for your family, jobs in your community and to sustain the customers that you support.”

“When you walk to the edge of all the light you have
and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown,
you must believe that one of two things will happen:

There will be something solid for you to stand upon,
or, you will be taught how to fly.”

© Patrick Overton, The Leaning Tree, 1975, Rebuilding the Front Porch of America, 1997

“To get through an impossible situation, you don’t need the reflexes of a grand prix driver, the muscles of a Hercules or the mind of an Einstein, you simply need to be told what to do.”
Anthony Greenback, The Book of Survival

Golden Nuggets:

  • Listen to how Darnyelle persevered not only through her younger years, but also through her unexpected devastation.
  • Marketing and Branding are two of the most misunderstood topics in the marketplace today.
  • Marketing is simply a conversation to an “audience of one.”
  • Marketing involves two levels – the conversation you have with yourself and the conversation you have with your potential clients/customers.
  • The keys are to make your marketing fun and magnetic, and to be congruent in your marketing and your message.
  • “If you are “The Bomb” and nobody knows it, you are going to blow up by yourself.”
  • Your message must feel good to you and resonate with your potential customers/clients.  It must pull them out of their current situation and bring them to a better place.
  • When you tell your story, include these three components:
    1. Your Robert Frost Moment: What did YOU do at the crossroads?
    2. Your Sam Cook Moment: What was the change YOU experienced and the change they need to make right now?
    3. Your Harriet Tubman Moment: She went back and got people to be free with her. Where are you going to take YOUR clients/customers to? What is the environment (the better place) they will now be entering?
  • Love conquers all… our gifts, our talents are Expressions of LOVE… what is your gift?
  • Entrepreneurship is all about packaging your business and yourself.
  • Bad things are going to happen, learn from them and move forward.  What happens is a Message – for some reason this is happening to me: move on and inspire others.
  • MANY PEOPLE ARE WAITING FOR YOU AND YOUR GIFTS … OPERATE IN YOUR PURPOSE
