You can manage your weight with both portion control and healthier choices and substitutions.

A simple rule of thumb for portion control is:

Your protein serving should look to be about the size of a deck of cards;

Carbohydrate (starches and fruits) should be about the size of your fist or a tennis ball
Most people eat portions much larger than these for protein and carbohydrates.

Try to focus on filling your plate with more Vegetables. Make them the majority of your plate.
